I recently released another book (you can find it here), and whenever something like this happens I always get the same question.
How did you do it?!
Usually, when people ask question this they’re looking for some kind of trick, easy answer, or magic bullet. But as I mentioned on Twitter, “Ain’t no magic in this.”
That’s all. Ain’t no magic in this. If you want to write a book, write it. The end.

On Saturday, I started tweeting about being an indie publisher, writing books, and just knocking out those goals you’ve meaning to tick of your list, but just haven’t. I went on a bit of an mini-rant, but a good one, and decided to archive my tweets in Storify. Take a look (and hit the share buttons below!):
How do you pay for publishing? How do you market your book? I’m scared.. Did you have any fears?
Hey there. To answer your questions…
1) I don’t pay for publishing + neither should you. I self-publish through Amazon (and other sellers like Nook, iBooks, etc. and it’s free.)
2) Fears? Yes. I was afraid nobody would buy my books & those who did would hate them. So far, neither of those things happened! 🙂
Just go for it!
I can’t believe Turn it Loose turned 1 in October…Oooh, I didn’t know you had an MFA in creative writing, either.
